The Legend of the Veiltail Goldfish

Long ago, in the realm of deep lakes, there lived a young fish named Lumia. Her body was ordinary, like any other fish, but her eyes sparkled like two stars. Lumia dreamed of seeing the world beyond the water — to discover what lay beyond the boundaries of her lake. She often gazed at the sky, admiring the stars, and prayed to the moon to grant her wish.

The moon heard her prayers and decided to help. It descended to the surface of the lake as a silvery beam. Lumia swam toward the beam, and the moon asked:
"Why do you wish to see the world? Your lake gives you a home, and the water keeps you safe."

Lumia replied:
"I don’t want to leave my home. But I dream of showing its beauty to the whole world, so that everyone may know how wonderful life beneath the water is."

The moon, touched by her words, gifted Lumia a magical veil made of light and stardust. The veil adorned her fins, transforming them into long, graceful ribbons that shimmered with hues of silver and gold. Whenever Lumia swam, her fins created sparkles of light, like reflections of the stars.

The legend says that since then, Lumia’s descendants, the veiltail goldfish, have carried her gift — the starry veil — and remind people of the importance of seeing and appreciating the beauty around them. And every night, when the sky is filled with stars, they rise to the water’s surface and softly whisper their gratitude to the moon for its wisdom.
